Mammography

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in the female population. Studies have shown that early detection and treatment of breast cancer can result in cure or reduction in mortality rate. Mammography is the most effective way to rule out early symptoms of breast cancer and detect benign tumours, cysts and fibroadenosis, etc.

American Cancer Association reommends :

  • age above 20, self- examination of breasts monthly
  • age between 20-39, medical examination of breasts once every 2-3 years
  • age between 35-39, mammogram screening at least once
  • age between 40-49, annual mammogram screening as preventive check up
    age above 50, annual mammogram screening as preventive check-up
